We would have totally missed this place had the gold pan experience in Ross not recommend it as a great lunch stop. We arrived and ate a delicious lunch and weren’t going to go to the treetops walk as seemed expensive. Then we saw a brochure and talked to a couple who had just done it so decided to venture forth. AMAZING and well worth the $. Exciting and felt safe at the same time Highly recommend… just wish the advertisements were better
Such an amazing experience through the beautiful west coast rainforest treetops! It was not only an enjoyable adventure but at the same time a thrilling experience! West Coast Treetop Walk is a highly recommended excursion through the 20 meters high and over 450 meters long steel platform. Visitors will be surrounded by relaxing and spectacular views during the visit. The 40 meters high Hokitika tower is the highlight of the walk but it is not for everyone because the stairs are very narrow and you could feel the strong wind and vibrations as you climb. There is also a cafe at the entrance of the walk and visitors can enjoy some food before exploring the tree top!
We were recommended this place by a friend. So glad we stopped in as the views are amazing. It’s a short walk up a gravel drive from the cafe (shuttle provided if assistance required), from there you walk out on to a very well engineered steel platform structure that takes you out across the tree tops of some amazing native trees. The staff were very friendly and the coffee was a nice reward after our winters day tree top stroll.
